On the Virtue of Charity

“No action can be virtuous unless it is freely chosen” – Murray Rothbard

Charity is great and some may consider it as a virtue, but consider these two scenarios:

1. You walk down the street and sees a homeless man, you give him $10, and you walk away.

2. You walk down the street and sees a homeless man, a third person appears and puts a gun next to your head and tells you to give the homeless man $10, you did so and walk away.

Now which one is virtuous?
